Electric Bus
A new chapter in BC Transit’s sustainability journey is underway. The first 10 electric buses are coming to the Victoria Regional Transit system in summer 2023, marking the start of BC Transit’s transformation to an entirely electric fleet by 2040. Electric buses provide cleaner air for communities, helping to improve health and wellness for everyone. Riders can feel good about their transportation choice, knowing that clean transportation is better for the environment.

OnDemand
On-Demand is BC Transit’s modern on-request transit option that will offer curb to curb rides to our valued transit riders. With On-Demand, customers will have the option to book a pick-up by a BC Transit operated vehicle from an address of their chose and get dropped off at a desired location within the established service area, which could include a transit hub or exchange to easily connect them to the wider transit system.

NextRide
BC Transit has successfully launched NextRide, its Automatic Vehicle Location technology, in 27 regional transit systems across BC. The latest version of NextRide uses Automatic Vehicle Location technology to allow customers to see real time bus locations along routes and identify what predicted arrival times are at any selected stop. Onboard, automated stop announcements call out stops to customers riding the bus, which increases comfort and convenience, while also improving the overall accessibility for many using transit.
